An otologist/neurotologist is an otolaryngologist (ears, nose throat physician) who has additional training in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions related to the ear and the temporal bone. Typically, otologists/neurotologists limit their practices to the conditions related to the ear as to allow the greatest expertise.
Whereas otologists/neurotologists maintain familiarity with those conditions related to otolaryngology, their area of exquisite expertise is the ear itself. Otologists/neurotologists provide both medical and surgical solutions to hearing loss, chronic ear conditions, and dizziness.
